YET ANOTHER KIND OF BANJO
I’m guessing that you are a fan of the 5-string banjo, with its high-pitched 5th string. Me too. This site is about a variant of the 5-string banjo, one with all 5 strings the same length. That’s it–a small difference. But small differences can have big consequences, as you will see.
I call this variant the capo-ble banjo, because it facilitates the use of a capo to alter the key of the instrument.
ABOUT ME
I’m George Hastings. I probably didn’t invent the capo-ble banjo (lots of people could have had the idea), but I probably invented the name. I have played the banjo since college: first a tenor banjo, then a plectrum banjo, then a 5-string. Years ago I settled on the capo-ble banjo.
